Wallaby Control

Bennett's Wallaby in South Canterbury.

Wallabies were introduced to New Zealand around 1870. There are several species established in NZ, the most numerous are the Bennett's Wallaby in South Canterbury and Dama Wallaby around Lake Tarawera.

Wallabies may be a greater threat to the regeneration of native forests than possums. While possums strip foliage from trees and may kill a mature tree, it is the seedlings that are attacked by browsers such as wallabies, deer and goats. Wallabies deer and goats may completely suppress the re growth of canopy trees.

Target Pest has a specialist wallaby control team, familiar with the habits and control of wallabies.
