Fumigation
Target Pest Control is Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry MAF A1 accredited to carry out fumigation of imports. And accredited to ISPM 15 Wood Packaging Program standard for fumigation of export wood products. Our fully-trained technicians and fumigators are experienced in all types of methyl bromide fumigations. From exports requiring certification of packaging and contents or container imports requiring biosecurity approval, to a table infested with borer. Target Pest will promptly and professionally carry out large and small-scale fumigation work. Because New Zealand is more reliant on primary production than most other countries, we have a lot more at stake and much more to lose should serious pests and diseases be allowed to enter the country.

Imports
Target Pest is certified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to carry out fumigation of imports to the Biosecurity NZ standard BNZ-STD-TREAT for imported risk goods.
New Zealand is vulnerable to pests and diseases imported from abroad, either intentionally or accidentally. They have the potential to seriously damage our unique ecology, threaten our economy and undermine our way of life. Many invasive pests already established here continue to cause problems requiring constant vigilance and ongoing control.
The last outbreak of foot and mouth disease in the United Kingdom is an example of the devastation and economic consequences that can be the result of importing pests and diseases. The economic and social effects in New Zealand of such an outbreak would be even worse. While this represents a worst-case scenario, there are many other pests and diseases with the potential to seriously impact on the farms and businesses that provide 60% of our export income.

Furniture Fumigation
Target Pest also carries out fumigations of other items such as borer infested furniture. Fumigation will completely eradicate borer from furniture items without damage. This maybe particularly important with antique pieces. The furniture can then be treated to prevent reinfestation. Call us for a free quote.
It is possible to totally eradicate borer infestation for a wooden house using a similar technique, however this is normally only practical for an historically valuable building and other methods may be more suitable. For more information on borer (bora) and treatment click here.
