Revolutionary New Rat Trap

A New Zealand designed and built lightweight, self-setting stoat and rat trap, which hits the animal's head with a gas-powered piston, could slash conventional trap costs by up to 75 percent.
The "world-first" system removes the need for the labour-intensive checking and resetting and free up more resources to fight pests threatening native birds.

 

- The trap weighs just 400 grams and can kill 12 rats or stoats before the CO2 gas canister needs to be replaced.
- The tree-mounted trap sees the animal climb up into the trap seeking the long life bait. It can also be located in floor or ceiling cavties for rat control.
   It trips a see-saw mechanism which triggers the piston "clobbering" rodents in the head and killing them.
Target Pest has tested and approved this trap for use in commercial and Domestic situations.  The trap can be located in areas where rats are a problem and left to kill up to 12 rats without needing to be reset.  The rats can then be collected after 2-3 days and the trap recharged. Eliminating the need to use toxic baits or conventional hit and miss traps.
