New Technology

During the past year the Target Pest Team has been developing an online (electronic)  reporting system.  Target Pest can put the status of your pest control programme online for you to monitor over the internet wherever you are.

Much of the information recorded during servicing lends itself to electronic data capture. Over the past three months Target Pest has invested in the development of software to be run on PDA devices that will capture site data. The extensive use of ‘drop down’ lists will significantly reduce error and improve consistency between individual technicians. It is intended that the PDA units will also capture coordinates by being connected to a GPS receiver using blue tooth technology.

Anyone who has been involved with software development will realise it is an expensive process and combined with the associated hardware makes this a significant investment for Target Pest. However, we think the improvements in data integrity and turn-around time for reports will be well worth the effort and expense.
